How To Deal With Disappointment…
Disappointment is a common experience of life. There are many things in life that disappoint us. Things we buy often disappoint us. Events we plan or attend can disappoint us. Even people we believed in disappoint us.
As humans we let people down and sometimes they let us down. People can be unreliable; they don’t seem to appreciate it when you’ve done something for them. They tell you one thing then do another. They will just cop out and leave you hanging.
So to make it in life we’ve got to learn to deal with people. One of the secrets of success is learning how to deal with people who disappoint you.
Albuquerque
I enjoyed a great weekend with Pastor Eddie and Mary Ann Howard at Christian Fellowship Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I arrived on Friday and enjoyed a wonderful meal with them in preparation for weekend of teaching and ministry. On Saturday morning we had a good group of people gather as I taught two sessions, one on “The Importance of Proper Placement” and the other session was “Seven Principles for Good Relationships.” On Sunday we ministered on “The Blessing of God.” I was pleased to see many new couples added to the church.
Denver
Since our Denver children and grandchildren were unable to make it home this Christmas, Anne and I decided to spend our first free weekend in January there. We had not seen them since last January and my had they grown. They met us at the hotel after school and did one of their favorite things when we visit, swim in the heated pool. We shopped, ate, did sight seeing and then ate some more. On Sunday we went to church in Conifer where Michael and Amy are planting a new church. It was a great service and we enjoyed meeting their friends. It’s always exciting for me to see a new church plant. Michael, Amy and staff, keep up the good work.
Happy New Year 2010
Anne and I saw the new year in from Choke Canyon State Park in Three Rivers, Texas. We enjoyed Christmas in McAllen with our son Phil, his wife Trish and our two granddaughters. We then moved our RV north to Three Rivers for the New Year. It just seemed right that before we hit the ground running in 2010 we should enjoy resting and relaxing for a few more days. We leave this week for Denver to spend a several days with our daughter Amy, son-in-law Michael and our grandchildren there. Anne and I are looking forward to our time with them and as well as visiting the new church they have planted there. From Denver we will visit our Christian Fellowship Churches in Albuquerque, McAllen and Harlingen.
