Christmas 2009

Anne and I are spending the Christmas holidays in the Rio Grande Valley more specifically McAllen, Texas. We arrived with Bo and Jake in our Airstream on Wednesday Dec. 23rd. We enjoyed being a part of the Christmas Eve Service at Christian Fellowship Church and was honored to speak after a time of worship and praise. I was pleased to see 70% of the church turn out for the service. After the service we enjoyed a time of fellowship with plenty of good south Texas food (tamales). We will stay through Sunday and then head north where we plan to meet our friends John and Janet Magee at Choke Canyon State Park and see the New Year in. We are really looking forward after a busy year to another week of rest and relaxation.

The Rio Grande Valley has some beautiful sunsets even with the telephone poles mixed in with the palm trees.
Anne and I were at Christian Fellowship Church in McAllen this past weekend. The pastor was graciously invited by an elder to attend a Dallas Cowboy football game so we were more than happy to stand in for him. We had a great time and they had a good time, even though Dallas didn’t have their best day. We are looking forward to returning there next week to spend Christmas with them.

We just returned home from our last international trip of the year. I left for England the day after Thanksgiving to visit our good friends Ron and Gretel Hibbert in Watford, and to work along side of Pastor Tim and Helen Roberts at the Watford Community Church.

Several years ago Tim and I were introduced and over the years it seemed right that we partner together in the building up of the body of Christ in Watford. So we agreed to walk and work together for this purpose. We have become not only partners, but mutually dear friends.
